The picture shows Yoko Ono participating in a simultaneous chess games. John Lennon and Ringo Starr were also good chess players and they have participated in several events.
The list of celebrities that participate in simultaneous chess games is quite extensive, including presidents, singers, actors, film directors, scientists, etc.
Simultaneous blindfold chess games are seldom realized, especially those with a relatively large number of participants, so the enthusiasts do whatever they can to participate in such events. Humphrey Bogart was a great found of blindfold chess and in 1952 he had the opportunity of playing such a game against the world record holder George Koltaniwski. Woodrow Wilson also had the opportunity to play blindfold chess against the world champion Emanuel Lasker in 1901, and he participated in a simultaneous blindfold chess tournament against Johannes Zukertort, in 1884.
John F. Kennedy played in several tournaments and there are many other personalities that are regular competition players, like the Boxing world champion Lennox Lewis, artist Marcel Duchamp and even it Pope John Paul II (Karol Josif Wojtyla). In Brazil we had Machado de Assis, former-minister Mário Henrique Simonsen and his wife Iluska (Iluska is ranked 7th in ICCF's feminine world ranking), former-governor Mário Covas and many other.
Therefore, simultaneous blindfold chess tournaments can give a big contribution to the Chess Game divulgation in the media, given that an event with the participation of several personalities from different areas will generate a great focus of popular attention.
