Uma breve nota sobre rating ICCF
 
          Com a finalidade de estabelecer uma comparação entre o rating FIDE e o ICCF, fizemos uma pesquisa com jogadores rankeados nas duas federações, e os resultados são apresentados na tabela abaixo.  
 
          Conforme podemos notar, as diferenças podem ultrapassar 100 e até 200 pontos. Numa pesquisa mais ampla, certamente poderíamos encontrar diferenças ainda maiores, mas esse quadro é suficiente para nos proporcionar uma idéia da relação entre as duas escalas e nos permite concluir que correlatam muito bem. A diferença média é de pouco mais de 7 pontos para cima na ICCF, ou seja, os jogadores com rating FIDE 2300 devem ter, em média, rating ICCF em torno de 2307. Na verdade, uma diferença tão pequena e resultante de uma amostragem com apenas 15 elementos não pode ser considerada como "real", O que se pode concluir é que existe uma boa correlação, mas não se pode dizer com exatidão a grandeza da diferença entre um ELO e outro.

1. Play will officially begin on 30 Aug 2000 at the latest.  

2. All play will be in accordance with the ICCF Email Rules of Play,  
   Version 1.1, dated 1 January 1998. If you do not have a copy of the  
   Rules, please contact your Tournament Director (TD).  

3. Please note the unique number to the tournament above. Please give  
   this number in all correspondence with the Tournament Director  
   and/or your opponents.  

4. Each player plays one game simultaneously against each of the others.  
   At the latest on the first day of the tournament please send your  
   first move to those of your opponents against whom you hold the white  
   pieces.  

5. Rating codes and rating numbers were taken from the ICCF Rating List  
   of 01/04/2000.  

6. In all tournament matters, please turn to your Tournament Director  
   (TD). The Tournament Director for this section is:

7. For sending moves the form of international numeric is mandatory!  
   Only if both players agree mutually, they can use another form of  
   Notation (for example PGN).  
   A sample form of the recommended ICCF Email form is included below.

   Please use the following format (PGN- Portable Game Notation) for repor-  
   ting results to the Tournament Secretary. It is recommended for result  
   validation, and helps a lot when processing monthly bulletins!

9. International email chess tournaments exist to please email chess  
   players and to cultivate friendly relations. Therefore they must be
